“At risk”/“high risk” newborn screening for developmental disabilities is done at designated public hospitals. Assessment of children and youth for cognitive, psychosocial and behavioral intervention is done. We gather data to see how best to help your child and provide a key assistance - Referral Support.
All year round admission for special education placement across 3 Centres and Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) in Thiruvallur district. Admission to Secondary and Senior Secondary School under the National Institute of Open School (NIOS) and State Board. SPASTN also enrolls students for short duration.
High Quality Physiotherapy, Sensory integration therapy, Communication, Speech & feeding therapy, Occupational therapy as part of Readiness to Learn and Special Education program Services across ages are provided. Workshops conducted by therapists and trainees for parents on various therapeutic measures.
Pre-vocational and vocational skill training is provided from the age of 14 and above in our Skills Training Workshop. The workshop provides training in handicrafts making, weaving, hospitality skills, retail skills and environmental cleaning. We carry out career assessment for students before we train them.
Diploma in Special Education is a 2 year intensive teacher training program approved by Rehabilitation Council of India. We also provide short term customized training program for NGOs and customized training program for Tertiary Colleges, Government officials, Engineers, Architects, Doctors, Nurses, etc.
A spacious multipurpose auditorium named TEACH [R&D]MRT1 is available in our Taramani Campus with ample parking space for Trainings, Seminars, Workshops, Art education, Music, Dance, Drama, Yoga or Art festivals. The open-air auditorium on the first floor can seat more than 500 people under robust tensile roof.
